Dr Gerasimos-Socrates Christodoulatos is a qualified physician and serves as a Consultant in Medical Biopathology-Laboratory Medicine at the Microbiological Laboratory of Sismanogleio General Hospital of Athens in Greece. He is the Special Secretary of the Hellenic Society of Medical Biochemistry. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras in 2007. He served his military service as a physician in the Hellenic Air Force’s 116th CombatWing in Achaia in Greece. He completed his field service as a rural physician at the General Hospital-Health Center of Krestena and Kato Samiko in Ileia in Greece. Ηe specialized in Medical Biopathology-Laboratory Medicine at the Laboratory Department of Hatzikosta General Hospital of Messolongi, at the Laboratories of Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry and the Hematology Laboratory-Blood Donation Unit of Attikon University General Hospital, at the Department of Pathology of Attikon University General Hospital, at the Department of Immunology and Histocompatibility of Evaggelismos General Hospital of Athens and at the Microbiological Department of KAT General Hospital. He has worked as a Consultant in Medical Biopathology-Laboratory Medicine at the Department of Laboratory Hematology of Evaggelismos General Hospital of Athens, and later as a fellow in Clinical Microbiology at theDepartment of Microbiology of Evaggelismos General Hospital of Athens. In July 2022, he completed his PhD at the Medical School of the University of Athens in Greece. As part of his thesis, he investigated the relationship between hormones of adipose tissue, cytokines and biomarkers of insulin resistance with postmenopausal breast cancer. He is trained systematically, attending workshops, seminars and conferences in Greece and abroad. He has an important research and educational work, for which he has been honored with 14 Greek awards, among them the Silver Award in Healthcare Business. He has more than 30 publications in international journals with more than 1050 citations and an h-index of 19 (20/01/2023); 17 publications in supplements of international journals; 195 announcements in Greek and international conferences and 3 chapters in educational books. He has been also an invited speaker of manylectures at Greek conferences. He speaks English fluently. He is married and the father of 2 children.
